The hardware of the S905 is capable of 4k.
Yeah, maybe capable to play a 4k video but when the 4k GUI placed on top of it then it was jerky at every 3-5 sec.

It means that I hardly have enough time to support S805 and S905. You have to remember that I have a family and a day job.
Sorry I didn't want to push you, just curious.
Thank you for all of your fantastic work!
MINI MX-G (MINI MX ver 1.0 2GB/16GB)
I have no plans to build for S912.
Could you be more specific?
Not now or never?
What's wrong with the S912?
Not even if somebody send you an S912 player?
I'm happy with my MINI MX-G but I have to use two LE version on two SD card (one for view pictures and one for watch movies) because the S905 has not enough power to render 4k GUI.
I hoped the S912 will solve this problem but without you and your LE version the S912 is just another cheap chinese junk.
The 1/4 screen bug introduced in the 006 version but kszaq repaired it and not present in the 007 version on my MINI MX-G
Video modes that you can change in Kodi playback menu: Video playback - Official Kodi Wiki (View Mode).
Ohhh, I've never seen this menu...
View mode:
All the video modes are the same (I don't know if it is the expected behavior or not) except Stretch 4:3 which zooms the sreen.
Zoom amount:
The zoom behavior is a little bit strange:
- if zoom ratio < 1 then the picture enlarges and goes down and aligns to the left side (black bar at the top)
- if the zoom ratio >1 the picture shrinks and aligns to the top left corner (black bars on the bottom and on the right)
I've expected some center aligned zoom in and out... (and no black bar when zooming in)
It's a normal behavior if you enabled passthrough in system - audio. You must use your receiver remote to adjust volume. If you don't use Dolby/DTS just disable passthrough, you'll then be able to adjust volume with box remote.
Maybe I was not clear enough.
I'm always using PT audio (because most of my movies has DTS or DTS HD MA audio track) and sometimes I can use the box' remote controller to adjust the volume but sometimes not.
(And most of the times I can use my tv's remote control too to adjust the volume on my AVR through CEC)
Can you please confirm whether on the latest 4K test build all video modes work correctly: Normal, Zoom, Wide Zoom etc.)?
Do you mean video modes on tv?
No I've not tried with another 4k source, the minimx is all I have. I could flash it back to stock Android and try that? I can try this tomorrow when I return home.
Ah maybe I need a HDMI 2.0 cable? My cable is probably 1.4a only.
I have Libre on flash.
Android reflash worth to try...
Hi kszaq,Your libreelec build works fine, thank you for your fantastic work!
I have MXQ Pro 4k. When I push Vol+ the movie jumps ahead some seconds instead of put volume up...
Sometimes when I push nothing happened...best regards, Gabor
I've noticed another strange behavior of the volume up/down buttons too:
Sometimes I can use it to adjust the volume on my AVR during watching a movie but sometimes it just writes a red text about audio passthrough enabled so it cannot use...
I haven't figured out when can I use it and when not.
I've put back your first 4k test version which renders GUI in 4k and the pictures are perfect (pixel to pixel to the tv).
Is there a chance to fix the 3 sec stuttering in 4k playback in that version?
You said it is a S905 issue, it's not enough power to render the video and the GUI in 4k together.
I don't mind if the 4k playback stutters when the GUI overlay on it but when I watch the movie without any overlay it should be work, isn't it?
I've checked the video resolution, fortunately it seems real 4k.
OK, I see.
Is that possible to render the GUI at the LE resolution preset (instead of fixed 1080p) when the picture viewer works?
Is there any hope to get 4k resolution in LE (at least) when I watch my 4k pictures?
Right now if I go to pictures and open a 3840x2160 pixel image it first downscaling to 1920x1080 and then upscaling back to 3840x2160.
The result is disappointing.
Is this depends on Kodi or LE?
In Android there is an app called native android picture viewer (or similar) that displays the pictures in 4k resolution, but the android screen is not pixel to pixel to the tv and I cannot adjust it so it is a little bit distorted (but still much much better than in LE)
I can only see my pictures in full-res if I put the images on a pendrive and plug it into the tv's USB port and watch them with the internal image viewer.
Edit: The LE resolution is 2160p60 and the tv report it correctly. I'm using the latest 4k test version of 006.
With the attachment anybody can check the screen resolution on a 4k tv. (If you can read the text on it then 4k)
I've updated to the "test6" version.. there is no 4k option in the resolution settings, only 720p and 1080p variants. What am I missing? (yes my TV is 4K - Digihome 55304UHDSM 55inch 4K Ultra HD LED TV)... I have to reflash Android and set 2160p or "best available" then flash libre??
Have you tried your tv with other 4k source?
If yes and worked, then do you use the same HDMI port and the same cable?
Do you use LE from SD or flash?
Is there a way to disable hdmi-cec on libreelec?Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
You can turn it off in system settings/input
Could you check your android system info instead of this screen?
Display MoreI am a little confused and stand to be corrected in that i believe there is no such box as an MiniMxg 2g/16g.
The g after MiniMx has thrown me in trying to locate a device tree similar to my MxMax.
The specs of the MiniMx 2g/16g are similar to the MxMax . I then presumed the MiniMxg was in fact
Just a MiniMx 2g/16g so i used it. It did work however a Google search for MiniMxg 2g/16g failed to locate such a box
for me to compare specs. Can someone confirm the box image i have inserted is in fact referred to as a MiniMxG
in the device tree downloads ? The image is in fact just a MiniMx 2g/16g
The MINI MX ver. 1.0 (2GB/16GB) calls itself MINI MX-G.
You can see it in the android system info.
So I think MINI MX-G is a proper name for it and easier to use than MINI MX 2GB/16GB
