Ok I solved it by using system --> audio --> output configuration --> fixed

Thanks for your feedback!
My tv used to play all audio through the receiver when I had an older version of Kodi on my Ouya device.
It also worked 80% of the time with the pre-installed Kodi on the Wetek Hub, but it now fails continuously on Libreelec, so chances are that there might be a software solution instead of buying a new receiver?

Hi, I'm running LibreElec 8.2.0 on Wetek Hub.
Wetek is connected to the tv via HDMI, audio goes to receiver with speakers via toslink to cinch convertor.
CEC is disabled.
When I play an mkv with 5.1 audio included, I hear audio through the internal tv speaker, but the receiver speakers stay silent (except for random quiet clicking sound).
When I plan an older file with mp3 audio included, receiver plays the audio fine.
The audio of the kodi GUI while exploring kodi works fine.
Audio output setting = ALSA Default (AML-M8AUDIO analog).
I now have a bad hack, where I start playing a video (no sound through receiver speakers), press back back so I am in the menu, play around in the menu and then open the video file again. This way, I *sometimes* have good audio through receiver speakers.
I think Kodi tries to tell the tv to play 6 channels instead of 2, and I don't know how to change this.
