Once I realised I needed to login via ssh, I knew what to do... It's just initially I thought there was some way to get to a command prompt locally.
ls /dev/dvb/adapter0/ . You should see frontend0 is present if the driver successfully loaded
In that directoty I have:-
demux0
dvr0
frontend0
net0so I guess the driver has been loaded. How do I know which PVR to select?

The best thing to do is plug the device in and then have a look at "dmesg" output.
How do I get to see dmesg output?
Is a command prompt available anywhere?
Actually, I managed to login via ssh.
lsusb shows:-
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 048d:9006 Integrated Technology Express, Inc. IT9135 BDA Afatech DVB-T HDTV Dongle
but there is no indication as to whether a driver is present.

Is there a guide on installing LibreELEC on a MECOOL KIII PRO ?
-
I have just installed LibreELEC and would like to see if my Integrated Technology Express, Inc. IT9135 BDA Afatech DVB-T HDTV Dongle can be used with it?
Is there a suitable PVR for use with this device? I presume I would need to add a suitable driver but don't know how to go about doing this.
AFAICT a driver is available here:-
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/torvalds/linux/master/scripts/get_dvb_firmware
Do I need to extract it9135 and if so what should I do with it?
Thanks in advance.

How do I go about running LibreElec on a Vigica C90, which is an Amlogic S805 driven box?
Is it possible to run it from a USB stick without actually installing it?

I'm having problems getting oscam working properly... I'm using LibreElec and have installed oscam and can access it via the web interface. I've converted a cline and produced and produced an oscam.server line from it.
Do I need any other files?
I read something about dvbapi settings but don't really know what they are or if they are necessary. Is this something I should look into?

I've managed to install OSCAM, and have looked at various guides for configuring it, but have not come across anything like a straightforward step by step guide...
The OSCAM configuration seems to be done through files in the service.softcam.oscam/config directory
This thread:-
TVHEADEND -> OSCAM -> CCCAM Server Cline - Tvheadend
Shows this example:-
oscam.conf:
Code
Display More[global] Nice = -1 ClientTimeout = 7 FallbackTimeout=3 ClientMaxIdle=120 CacheDelay = 120 BindWait = 5 WaitForCards = 0 PreferLocalCards = 1 LogFile = stdout saveinithistory = 1 readerrestartseconds = 5 maxlogsize = 200 [monitor] nocrypt = 127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255 appendchaninfo = 1 [webif] httpport = 8888 httpuser = root httppwd = pwd httpallowed = 127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255 [dvbapi] enabled = 1 au = 1 boxtype = pc user = dvbapi ###### for E2 set pmt_mode = 0 ########### ###### for Titan set pmt_mode = 4 ########### pmt_mode = 0
oscam.server:
Code
Display More[reader] enable = 1 label = cccam-reader protocol = cccam device = 192.168.178.10,55555 user = living-room password = pwd group = 1 emmcache = 1,1,2 cccmaxhop = 5 cccversion = 2.2.1
oscam.user:
Code[account] user = dvbapi pwd = dvbapi group = 1 au = 1 uniq = 0 betatunnel = 1833.FFFF:1702,1834.FFFF:1722
Are these the three files I need to configure for my own setup?

I can't work out how channel order on Kodi corresponds to TVheadend, or how to make a subset of the services on TVheadend available to Kodi.
Where should I look?
-
you don´t need to change that file at all if you don´t want other shares being available as the current ones.
Are you in need of additional shares? LibreELEC shares a bunch of folders by default.
It's just for my own enlightenment
-
look at /storage/.config/samba.conf.sample for the default shares list, rename to samba.conf and edit (and reboot) if you want to edit the list
I notice there is no samba.conf on installation, yet I can still access samba share from Windows, so how is this configured?
-
When I edit samba.conf and reboot the system displays a msg on reboot about filesystem corruption and does an automatic repair which ends up with my samba.conf either disappearing or being restored without my changes.
-
Does LibreELEC create any shares when installed or do you need to create them yourself?

I have just configured Tvheadned on a Raspberry Pi and specified that anyone could login, but after restarting there was a login prompt for which I do not have a username and password. How can I startup Tvheadend in LibreELEC with the --noacl parameter?
-
After installing TVheadend server on an RPI2 I went through the setup wizard, selected DVB-T Network, my adapter was found and then I had to select from a number of Muxes - not sure what they are but I selected one and a scan found 8 channels. I thought there ought to be around 30. That's what I get when the aeriel is connected to the TV.
How do I force a manual scan?
I notice if I try to 'Edit Network, I can select Pre-defined muxes but I only get a choice of 8 locations (for Poland). Is this simply a hard coded text file which can be updated?
I also notice under Advanced settings, the Provider's network name is Emitel. Where does this come from? I guess this is the telecomms regulator in Poland...
I'm guessing that I only find the channels on one mux and I might get more from other muxes...but how?

Is it possible to install Midnight commander on LibreELEC for RPi?
It's a handy tool to use when 'ssh'ing into the system.
