You think it's a KODI problem? The same version of KODI (17.6 - Krypton) on Android works OK.
LE for S905 with the same version (17.6) is also OK.
Only LE for S912 stutters.
Did I miss something?

I downloaded sample from yatoya and before each subtitle I have stuttering. The same stuttering as you can see in his video (captured from TV).

There is still the same problem on all movies with subtitles
(internal in MKV or external SRT). It is very noticeable and annoying.HW decoding - ON (100%)
Movies without subtitles plays OK.
The same sample on Android with KODI 17.6 plays without stuttering.

I just want to add another insight...
Also Picture Slideshow (transitions, zooming) are not smooth. It looks like dropped frames.
(Slideshow on Minix U1 is perfect smooth)

Back to the topic again...
I think "dropped frames with subtitles" issue is related to dropped frames issue when OSD is on. I do not know if this has been discussed here, but even more dropping causes any OSD menu.

I have exactly the same problem on my (S912) Minix NEO U9-H with subtitles. It's pretty annoying.
If I can help somehow to fix this bug, let me know. (Logging, Testing, anything...)

Anyway, it was possible to live with USB Reader, but dropped frames with subtitles is terrible.

I would like to use microSD in my internal reader. That's the main reason.
I think speed will be better in the internal reader.
Your device tree (gxm_q200_2g.dtb) works OK, but only on USB.
On Minix NEO U1 I use LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.1.10.img.gz and gxbb_p200_2G_minix_neo_u1.dtb on microSD Samsung EVO Plus 32GB in internal reader.
Everything is excellent!

It looks like the problem will be associated with the internal card reader of Minix NEO U9-H.
When I used a USB card reader, it worked as it should.
Each microSD card or flash drive worked with LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2-8.1.10.img.gz and gxm_q200_2g.dtb without any problem.
When I tried to use gxm_q200_2g_minix_neo_u9.dtb from wrxtasy initialization process ended with black screen each time.
Do you have an idea what could be done? In order for LE to work in the internal reader? Need to adjust device tree or something else?
I got into the command line, but I did not find any information to verify or modify.
Obviously, I'm not alone, who has the problem to run LE on Minix U9-H in an internal reader.
I'll try anything you want, check what you want if it helps me and others to run LE on Minix U9-H.
I would be happy if experts ( kszaq, wrxtasy, ... ) looked at this post and tried to help us.

I have been using LE on Minix NEO U1 [S905] for a long time. Everything works great.
Now I bought Minix NEO U9-H [S912] and I have a problem installing LE on SD card.
I found a description of the problem at the Minix Forum. I have the same problem.
