If it says tvheadend stop - it means it can't access the tvheadend api.
Please check the tvheadend ip address/port in the tvh2kodi addon settings as well as the username/password in those settings if you use one for tvheadend.
Also - check if you have the tvh pvr client enabled - the tvh2kodi addon attempts to get the tvh ip adress from that addon.
The kodi.log would be preferred - but if you can't access tvheadend from the web ui - my tvh2kodi addon won't work either - they both use the tvheadend api for access.
If your tvheadend service is not running - you will need to restart it.
Are you able to supply a kodi log?
Are you able to access the tvheadend web interface from a browser? If so, make sure the ip address/port you use is entered in the tvh2kodi settings.
What hardware and LE version are you running? Is your tvheadend setup on the same hardware or connected over the network?
Thank you - those looks as I suspected, which is good.
Since there are multiple configurations for DVB-S, I'll need to make sure I adjust/setup for each of those. That will take a little longer - but I'll likely send you a test for your setup before I work on the rest of the DVB-S configurations.

belaid38 OK - I've got a bunch done - but there is a part here that will be a bit more difficult to complete without having a dvb-s adapter. You show in your screengrabs that the dvb-s adapter is set as a 4-port switch - which brings up a different panel in the UI. I'm not sure how to access that panel - as the higher level config screen for the adapter itself is the info I had you send to me. I can create that config - but need to understand the link between those two screens. (ATSC-T, ATSC-C, IPTV, DVB-T, DVB-C all use one level of configuration for adapters)
In order to sort his out - can you let me know if you are familiar with using the inspect tool in the web browser? I may need to have you grab some additional information so I can see how tvheadend uses the api to get between those configuration levels.

I don't understand the need for the default view level function - as this only impacts the web UI and doesn't effect the display in my addon.

For those of you testing on LE 9 builds (like Milhouse) - here is an updated Tvheadend42 addon for RPi 2/3 with commits that add the ability to replace the weird/missing tvh genre listings with the original genre/category information from the xmltv file.

If you update to this version of Tvheadend42 (RPi 2/3 only!) - then take a look at the EPG Grabber Modules tab and select my zap2epg addon - you will notice new checkboxes for:
If you enable the first and third items and set the "Include Episode Genres" option in the zap2epg addon to "Original" - the epg in Kodi will now show the complete set of genre information for the show and it will not color in the epg.
If you prefer a colored epg, you can just select the "Scrape credits and extra information" option in the tvh epg grabber and then set the "Include Episode Genres" option in the zap2epg addon to "Simple" or "Full" depending on your coloring preferences.
Please note - when you enable these options, you will need to rerun the grabber and reload the epg in Kodi (which you can do through the PVR settings or rebooting)
Unfortunately, while I can provide an updated Tvheadend42 for LE 8.2 - it won't give you the same benefits as the pvr.hts client needs updating as well and there are too many commits to try to backport. Consider it a new function for the upcoming LE 9 release.

All work fine downgrading back to 1.08.

I want to make sure I'm looking at the correct functions you want to edit - as they aren't used here in the US, so I'm not familiar with them.
CvH - would you be willing to try adding this patch to the pvr.hts addon in LE 8.2 to add the new category/genre function??

I realize you said that we couldn't do a full backport of the newer pvr.hts - but this patch should be enough to enable the new category/genre function that is working in LE 9.
Basically, with this function added to pvr.hts and the new commits just added to tvh service - you can choose to have Kodi display the original catgeories/genres from the xmltv.xml file instead of Tvh trying to do a match to the built in, limited genres.
