You have to be running LE 9 Milhouse builds - which will give you the updated Tvheadend client...

Then install this updated version of Tvheadend...

Then on the epg grabber page - you will see 2 options you need to check...

• Scrape credits and extra information:
• Use category instead of genre

Enable both of those, rerun your grabber and reload your kodi epg (either reboot or clear data in pvr settings) and you will have the categories from your xmltv file. Please note that you will not have EPG colors as these are tied top the limited genre codes. However, I personally like having the original catgories and not the epg colors - so this works for me.

Your xmltv file does contain some basic category info. The latest versions of tvheadend server and client running on the LE 9 Milhouse builds have an option to display the original categories from the xmltv file instead of trying to match the basic list that exists in the older tvheadend version.

I guess I need to understand what you mean by "correct epg categories"... if you can describe how you want it to display, I should be able to provide directions on how to setup.

I will have an update tomorrow to test. The editing of existing CAs should work.

VoSed did you just edit the tv_grab_file file on your system or did you change the files and rebuild LE?

If the former - can you attach it here? (it will save me some time when I make the changes in my repo)

What version of LE / tvheadend and hardware are you running? Also - what location / data source for epg are you using as that will determine what kind of epg categories you will be able to display.

I have been through this on my sd4tvh grabber...you can follow this format change.

original LE 8.x version format:

settings.xml looks like this:

<setting id="sd.username" value="" />

so the grep looks like this...

USERID=`grep id=\"sd.username\" $ADDON_SETTINGS | awk '{print $3 }' | sed -e "s,value=,," -e "s,\",,g"`

in the new LE 9 version - settings.xml looks like this:

<setting id="sd.username"></setting>

So the grep now should look like this...

USERID=`grep id=\"sd.username\" $ADDON_SETTINGS | awk '{print $2 }' | sed -e "s,id=\"sd.username\">,," -e "s,</setting>,,g"`

The only caveat to this is if a setting has not been changed - it will have the text default="true" in the line like this:

<setting id="sd.username" default="true"></setting>

In which case, you may need to consider adding an extra substitution in there like this:

USERID=`grep id=\"sd.username\" $ADDON_SETTINGS | awk '{print $2 }' | sed -e "s,id=\"sd.username\" default=\"true\">,," -e "s,id=\"sd.username\">,," -e "s,</setting>,,g"`

That will make sure both version of the id part are removed.

You should be able to copy and paste my grep line and just replace id=\"sd.username\" with the correect setting ids.

belaid38 can you show me on my addon which area - kodi screengrab? I'm not clear on where you want to sort channels by alpha.

Currently, I have map channels set for all available services.

Are you looking to add a map selected channels function to my addon?
