Baytrail chipsets do have a bug that can cause them to completely lock up. I had the exact same issue. Have a look at my thread that fixed my problem

I think I've found the problem with my chromebook freezing. Apparently there is a bug with the baytrail chipsets. Does anyone know where I add this line "intel_idle.max_cstate=1" into the kernel?

I'm having trouble with my chromebox freezing during video playback. I have to hard reset it to get back up. Its using the latest Mrchromebox uefi firmware. Here is the error log
