Well I have a 1080p panel too and neither in Dolphin nor Citra are menues too big

The sound in citra breaks sometimes while playing around in menues so setup the emulator and run it again. It's compiled with SDL2 sound only so if your asound.conf is correct you must have sound in citra too. Otherwise you have too chose you output device in Emulation/Configure/System/Audio.

Can you upload a picture of your oversized menues?

Whats your screen resolution? Have you read the FAQ and set up the asound.conf? Citra = SDL2 sound = ALSA -> no ALSA no sound.

EDIT: I'm using beta 8 generic X86-64 build on an i5 7200 laptop.

I downloaded the tar.gz from redream.io, extracted to /storage/redream, and tried to launch it from the terminal from here.

Well the xinerama lib is not included since it's build static. To be honest I'm not really into redream after this [IMPORTANT] Redream is no longer open-source · Issue #6066 · libretro/RetroArch · GitHub since the dev has just $$$ in his mind.

I can build the xinerama lib shared but won't look deeper into redream.

Well the best thing is to create special conf files for every game. Boot them with the default config, adjust the settings for the game & safe the new config file. Then put it into the amiga rom folder, maybe fix some floppy image paths first, and run it. Many gamepads should work out of the box if SDL2 supports them. Otherwise it's also possible to use retroarch gamepad config files & drop them into the controller subfolder.

• added controller subfolder to amiberry config -> place your retroarch controller files there, rename them 1:1 to the detected controller name and enjoy automapping
• added citra standalone / replaced libretro-citra -> delete your es_systems.cfg before you update!
• added custom theme support -> download & unzip your theme files to the themes directory within the emulationstation config folder

I've updated the theme include path -> in the next build you can drop your custom themes to Configfiles/emulationstation/themes  and they should work.

Okay... well I've spent some time building the standalone citra version since some libretro-citra submodule is outdated and it won't build right now. The libretro core is awful slow compared to the standalone version so I will include this core for now if I can iron out all configuration quriks.

It's a completly new package with new config files, dependecies, probably QT5 stuff and else. What I don't get... your CPU is as fast as mine and you have als a dedicated GPU. Citra runs games fine for me so why do you need an dedicated package?

Okay so you just exchanged the dtb file and it runs.

If you want to play any A1200 or CD32 game add AGA or CD32 to the file name. The start script is looking for these strings is loading the A1200 default config file then.

So for example:

A1200 -> WormsDirectorsCut_v1.2_AGA_0605.zip

CD32 -> Worms_v1.0_CD32_2MB.zip

Pressing F12 gives you the menu. I did have the odd slowdown on a few demos but cured this by changing the cpu to 14mhz. I have not tried the joystick yet so will pair my ps4 gamepad later in libreelec settings.

For amiga 1200 games you need to rename game disk and add AGA in the title. You will also need the kick31.rom and rename to kick40068.A1200.rom or you can edit the uae config to kick31.rom.. I will try whdload later should be a case of editing the uae config files.

Well setting up Amiberry is not what I've meant If you create a Kickstart folder in the bios dir & name your rom appropriate it works out of the box.

I mean what dtb did you use? One of these? GitHub - LibreELEC/device-trees-amlogic: Linux Kernel device tree files used in LibreELEC releases for Amlogic hardware Replaced the dtb in the image?

You can try the Amlogic build and install it like any other LE image. But I can only guarantee that Khadas VIM builds work since it's the only AML device I own.

I'm noticing similar issues. Except i'm using a far more powerful CPU and GPU.
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k @ 4ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
I've tested a handful of games in both the standalone Citra as well as the Retroarch core (same results in the regular core and Canary core). And yes i've disabled vsync which does indeed cause issues. I used Kingdom Hearts 3D as a comparison here and picked an identical scene to test. Note that KH3D is a 30fps game, so anything at or above that rate is its full speed or better. I disabled the speed limit and vsync. Same settings applied in both emulators. Hardware Renderer enabled, Hardware Shaders, Accurate Geometry Shader, Shader JIT.

Well I guess you're refering to this? FPS issues · Issue #47 · libretro/citra · GitHub the point is that a recent citra standalone version is way ahead of the libretro-core because the maintainer rebases the lr core rather seldom. Keep in mind that the core is more like wip and not comparable to something like dolphin. Also they use Windows10 and so you really can't compare that because a completly diffrent driver stack is used.

In your build, EmulationStation has no sound for video snap. If we start any game with RA and then quit to EmulationStation, the sound for video snap would be OK but the sound effect for ES theme would get mute.

In you thread description, it says there is a PPSSPP for all builds. In fact, there is no standalone PPSSPP for S905 serial TV box,right?

And last, I think 1024MB for FAT32 partition for S905 bulid is too much. Maybe 512MB is enough.

I am glad there is another build based on LibreELEC with ES while Sx05RE Swichting to CoreELEC.

My ES sound works fine on a Khadas VIM S905X device with this asound.conf asound.conf.kvim so try to get the correct sound settings using aplay -L first.

In fact there is PPSSPP included in all builds since it's the libretro core which runs on all plattforms. For these arm SBC it's more a proof or concept because it runs quite slow for most graphical demanding games. A system partition size of 512MB would be suitable at the moment for all those SBC but not for a generic build. And since I have to set one default partition size for all targets it's 1024MB. IMHO I don't see the point of shrinking that to gain 256MB or something... microSD cards are cheap and external drives work also.

Ah ok I thought the controls were configured in ES for all libretro emu's. Strange how you have to configure ALL the buttons just for a menu system... And yes, I was surprised it worked so well in RP to be honest!

Where do I check the controls per emulator? I looked at User 1 binds in RA and mine is set to Retropad w/Analog. User 1 Analog to digital is set to None. Not sure why N64 analog is messed up

Ah ok. I just thought on the rpi when it comes to shutting down it's quicker to shut down from ES then having to go back into kodi.

I guess RetroPie has a nifty little script/function that populates the es_input.cfg but since it's easy to setup and only needed for menu browsing I haven't spent to much effort in it. My 8bitdo stuff works out of the box and the rest of the world has to spent 1min to set it up

First things first. Make sure you mapping for RA is correct. Start RA then go to load core & start the button_test_libretro.so something core. Then make sure all of your buttons light up in the right place. The hot-key for RA menu is F1 and you can quit every RA core with the right-alt key.

Basically this is a read-only system and you could pull the plug out of the wall without messing up the base system so I really don't care much about a clean shut down and how long it takes

The sound stuff is just a RetroPie relict. Set audiocard in this ES menu to default and it should not crash anymore. Afaik you can't controll the volume with ES so just lower the volume of your TV

You don't need a tar file to update you can use the img.gz file too.

The ES controller config has nothting to to with the RA setup and is only used for controlling the ES frontend. It also depends in which mode you've connected the gamepad so if it works in Xinput or Dinput mode. Both feature a different number of buttons. Your controller isn't included in SDL2 upstream gamecontrollerdb sdl_gamecontrollerdb.h so it won't be detected out of the box. Or in other words... you saved on the wrong things

If your controls are weird in RA you have a faulty config file. Also check you controls per emulator. You can for example enable anlogue to digital for games that don't support sticks but this cause problems in other games that have mapped controls on the sticks.

I'm not adding back the quit menu because it's not functional since it's made for RetroPie and makes no sense since LE has it's own shutdown function.
