Hi, Monday I ordered the minix u1, I paid 106 euro, I still have to get it, I would not know if I made the right choice, maybe it was better to buy the odroid C2.
Do you know if the minux u1 hdmi-cec works with libreelec ? I have a samsung f6500 TV.

It is the same quality but M8S II has better remote (silent rubber buttons instead of hard and clicky).
Thank you, very kind, for the remote control is not a problem, i'm going to take a minix A2 lite. I also found a review: Mini M8S II TV Box (Amlogic S905X) Review – Part 1: Unboxing and Teardown Thanks again for availability.
One question, the Mini M8S II regarding the quality of construction is support is at the Beelink Mini MXIII II level ? I find it on ebay shipped by italy and I do not pay customs.
Sorry, I tried to buy the Beelink Mini MXIII II but I do not find a suitable shop.
About gearbest.it is shipped by mail and it takes 10 or 25 days, who knows when it arrives.
About amazon.com to ship to Italy there are over 20 euro shipping, and here too the goods could arrive in 20 days.
Do you know some trusted stores that have the Beelink Mini MXIII I available in some European warehouses ? Amazon.it is no longer available.
Or suggest me a valued alternative to the Beelink Mini MXIII I, maybe I would like to purchase it on amazon.it: Amazon.it: elettronica, libri, musica, fashion, videogiochi, DVD e tanto altro
That is incorrect. Android Kodi 17.x needs as a minimum Android Lollipop 5.x.x - which does not make a difference anyway on a device like the MINIX U1 as you would be using the superior LibreELEC Kodi anyway.
There are a whole bunch of us happily using LibreELEC Kodi Krypton on AMLogic S905's, we don't even care much about VP9 or HDR.
These days I would rather wait until cheaper Dolbyvision TV's come down in price and really hit the mass market and then it will be time to upgrade. Especially now that Apple has gotten the DV ball rolling with its Apple TV 4K. That is when you will visually see the biggest difference and get the best bang for your buck.
Thank you so much for the explanations, I was wrong, yes, I did not read the topic properly. Okay, I think I understand, LibreELEC is installed on micro SD so the version of android that has the box is indifferent.
I did not know the Apple TV 4K, for the moment I also have a TV full HD 1080p , i have a samsung 46 f6500, so i do not care for 4k at the moment, as long as I'm on TV I'm not going to change it.
I'm undecided, I did a bit of calculating the expense, if I decide for the s905 i take the minix u1, if i take the s905x as box i choose the Beelink Mini MXIII II.
Expense:
MINIX Neo U1 + A2 Lite = € 124.90
SD card 32 GB = € 16.63
Total = € 141.53
---------------------------------------
Beelink MINI MXIII II 2G + 32G = 58.99
MINIX A2 Lite = € 24.90
SD card 32 GB = € 16.63
Total: €100.52
Unfortunately the Beelink MINI MXIII II 2G on amazon.it is no longer available, if you have any idea about some other box with s905x let me know.
Samsung EVO is OK
UHS-I is equal or better than class 10
Hint:
Thanks for the explanations you were very kind.
In the end I was thinking of taking the minix u1 as a device seems obsolete, the s905 has great performance, the lack of support vp9 is not a problem, the problem is that the device will never be updated to marshmallows, they gave me confirmation forum: Minix u1 Marshmallow | MINIX Forum - Official. Android 5.1 is very stable, but I was told that many apps are no longer compatible with android 5.1, for example, kodi Krypton 17.0 is no longer compatible with Android Lollipop: Kodi Community Forum 306038. Sure with libreelec android 5.0 or 6.0 I think it is indifferent.
Class 10 UHS-1 or better
Don´t use cheap noname brands.
I use Samsung(Pro+), Sandisk(Extreme Pro) and Lexar(Professional)
Thank you for your explanations.
From 32 gb I think it's okay.
This model I think is fine:
It is written:
Samsung MB-MC32GA / EU EVO Plus, 32 GB, UHS-I, up to 95 MB / s, but I have no idea if it is class 10.
The Samsung MB-MD32GA / EU PRO Plus, 32 GB, UHS-I, U3 Class, up to 100 MB / s Read and 90 MB / s costs 34 euros.
Does EVO Plus really hope it's okay ?
Sorry micro SD I have to take class 10 ?
The Best microSD Cards | The Wirecutter
Do the models in question both fit ?
Thank you very kind, perfect, I have seen the table you showed me, the situation is very clear. Ok I saw that for 100 Mbps 1080p files are enough, for now I do not have 4k files on the hard disk.
I've seen you use this adapter:
ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
Sorry if i bother you, just a question about the micro SDs that I recommend these models ?
I have two usb 3.0-gigabit adapter, one with ASIX 88179 and the other with RTL8153 chip.
Both work fine with any box under LE and android.
But is it necessary to take the gigabit adapter ? 100 mbps are so many, I think a few video files exceed a bitrate of 100 mbps.
Please go ask minix about their plans for Android directly. This is a forum about Linux, not Android.
Hi, sorry I did not think I was out of the question, the minix u1 has the s905 so how the thread title comes into the discussion. Can I ask you which box to use with libreelec ? Which box advises me ?
A small question, the minix neo u1 will never be updated to marshmallow ?
Depends on the 4k file.
I use GBit USB-Network adapter
Thanks for the information, ok there are 4k files that exceed 100 Mbps, the adapter I use I think is similar to this:
However apart from vp9 support I would not have any advantage to take a s905x instead of the s905, the performance is almost equal:
One question, the fast ports of the s905x (100 Mbps) boxes can support streaming (local network) of 4k files ? Perhaps the maximum bitrate of a 4k video file is 50/60 Mbps, I do not think I exceed 100 Mbps.
Thanks for the explanations.
I'm just interested in these keys:
Pause / play, stop, back, rewind, forward, ok, power, and directional arrows.
On kodi (on windows 10) I installed the Keymap Editor Addon but it does not work.
A remote control with the keys already mapped I think it does not exist.
I've seen the advice of the Xiaomi Mi Box Bluetooth, but it has a few buttons.

Mapping keys will work on all remote controls, but it´s a DIY project.
I don´t know about minix A2 lite remote
DY is the developer's name ? Do you use the original Beelink mini mxiii-ii remote control ?
We also hope to have fun on the minix A2 lite, I would not spend 25 euros on the remote and then I do not work the buttons.
Does not there exist a remote control with the keys already configured and ready for use for libreelec ?
Can this work on libreelec ?

I thank you for the explanations, I will have to study the guide, unfortunately with google translator is very difficult, I speak only Italian. Does this work on all remote controls ? I'm going to take the minix A2 lite remote control.
