Beelink Mini mx iii 16/2GB S905: I have v8.2.31 installed on a SD card. What's the best way to upgrade to Leia? Is there a method that will allow me to retain all the v8 addons and configurations?

I am using v8.2.3.1 on a S905 Beelink Minimx iii. I have update notification enabled and just received a popup notification that an update is available. Is this legitimate?
edit: I rebooted and got a popup saying that the upgrade was installed, but I'm not sure what the source of the notification was.

The same happend to me. The Test2 is the right one: LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-Test2.wetekdvb.img.gz
Try it with its own dtb file. If it doesn't work change dtb file.
p.s. I made a fresh install
Thanks for the tip. I haven't had time to try this, but I will

Attempted to install LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.4.2-S905Test-1529136339.img.gz by placing the file in the update folder on my S905 MiniMX iii, but received an error at boot saying that it was actually for a S912.

are you sure that is actually updated ?
pls check Kodi -> Settings -> system info which version you are
Yes, it is updating, shows 8.2.0.1.
Otherwise, everything is working fine, it just annoys me
-
with that version you have 17.5
Yes, I know, but the Kodi splash screen shows "17.3"
-
you are at an not official build of LibreELEC -> no autoupdate
have a look here [INDEX] LibreELEC community builds for Amlogic
That's where I have been getting the builds. After downloading, I place the file (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.0.1.img.gz) in the .update folder, then reboot the box.

It would be ever so nice if you could tell us which hardware device/box/pc you are having issues with.
And by the way, we are up to Kodi 17.5(.1) now.
I'm using a Beelink Mini MXiii S905 2/16 GB. LE is running off a SD card.
Despite, as you state, "we are up to Kodi 17.5(.1)", the Kodi splash screen is still displaying 17.3.

I mentioned this issue earlier, but it's still not resolved.
I upgraded to 8.1.10 build from 8.0.2e and, at boot, was still seeing the Kodi 17.3 splash screen. I was told by another user that they saw the 17.4 splash screen, so I decided to wait and see if anything changed after the next update.
In the mean time, I disabled the Kodi splash screen in advancedsettings.xml.
Now, after upgrading to 8.2.0.1, the 17.3 screen reappeared.
I've once again disabled the splash screen in advancedsettings.xml.
I am puzzled why the splash screen is not being updated in my installation. Any ideas?

You may want to reinstall the latest update. Just drop it into the .update folder again along with the dtb you normally use, and reboot.
My box definitely has the correct (17.4) splash screen, and that is part of the system image.
Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I'll see what happens after the next update.

I have the 8.1.10 build installed and see the Kodi 17.3 splash screen at boot. Is this normal?
Edit: I disabled the Kodi splash screen in advancedsettings.xml, but still wonder if the Kodi splash screen version is updated with corresponding LE builds?

☺️Yes, wifi speed results on same box (BeeLink mini mxiii), dual-boot, LE vs Android. Why the different results?

I have a BeeLink mxiii s905. Today I ran a speed test on the Kodi and LE installs and was surprised to see that the LE, DL speed, was approximately 23mbps, where the same test on Kodi was only 8mbps. What would explain the disparity?
