P212 = S905X
P200/P201 = S905
In most cases:
Android 5.0 = S905
Android 6.0 = S905X
Thank you for your quick response but as total windows user I got no idea how to relate kernel 3.x with other kernels.Could you have a look in to this post and tell me if this is possible that smp bug could exist in your images ?
What post?
kszaq, which kernel build do you use in those builds ? Probably can check it somehow but I'm away from home and not able for some time...
GitHub - kszaq/linux-amlogic-le: the Linux kernel for Amlogic SoC devices
So far the only S905 device that you can overclock is Odroid-C2 and this is possible only because Hardkernel developers worked hard on tuning bootloader and kernel.
From some benchmarks I did when testing libdvbcsa speed I can say that S905X is indeed a little bit slower than S905 - less than 10% slower.
About Mali GPU speed there was a bug in device trees provided that limited Mali clock to 666MHz for S905. Now with the latest device trees that I provide in my builds (and soon in official LE) you are able to run Mali at 792MHz for S905 and 744MHz for S905X.
About decoding pipeline the only significant difference in code is for 4K H.264 videos but I cannot comment on which one is better.
Your box would not boot if you flashed a device tree for wrong ethernet speed.
Sorry kszaq can we get that back on the OP.
I'm a creature of habit. Get freaked out really easily when something changes.
Sure. Added as requested. I will keep them in a separate folder though because the same device trees are for 8.0 builds.
sammaz I cannot see any mention of internal WiFi/BT chip in the log. Have you blacklisted the module?
even if dtb.img is included..any other way how to update dtb.img on running box from nand without sd card and copytointernall command?
.tar update also updates device tree if it's included in update folder.
You would have to patch initramfs and modify it where boot parameters are set: LibreELEC.tv/platform_init at libreelec-8.0-sX05 · kszaq/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
Good news: I received Minix U1 and got analog audio working.
Bad news: the configuration changes I had to make break multichannel audio on HDMI.
I will be working on making both work.
Still experiencing that annoying HDMI-CEC bug. When my A95X is off, it seems to be disrupting my HDMI-CEC devices. My amplifier is sometimes not turning on anymore by the TV and the most annoying part is that my HDMI-ARC stops working completely. With the adapter turned off and a HDMI killer it's all back to normal.
Everything works fine in Kodi/LibreELEC, but as soon as the device is turned off everything goes bonkers.Any idea what I can do about this? I do not have alot of knowledge of this device. Is it possible to upgrade the firmware of the HDMI-CEC adapter?
Hope you can help out!
I repeat one more time: CEC behaviour when the box is off is defined in the box firmware, not LE. You have to reach out to box manufacturer to fix this in bootloader.
Mak975 Please download from Index of /s905/device_trees/
I consolidated device trees folder because they are the same for 7.0 and 8.0 builds.
Only for the first time.
I don't know what this error is but I would advise you to update LE to 8.0.0 and install inputstream.rtmp from official LE repository that you can find in Kodi addons menu.
Thank you guys for testing. I'll have the device with me next week, I will try to make it work then.
S905X is (currently) limited to 96kHz due to on-chip DAC, S905 can output up to 192kHz.
elgatito No difference. This is because of a workaround introduced to make both high-res audio and HD Audio passthrough work. Both "audio devices" will give exactly the same result.
