For upgrading you have to contact seller or box vendor. Unfortunately we cannot support closed-source, GPL violating LE forks.
If you want a clean LE8 running from SD card, it's possible you can run one of my builds.

Please observe if there are any audio issues in the dev build compared to 8.0.1e. I haven't posted any changelog but there is a fix for better fractional frame rates support and a change in audio handling.

This fix is not included in 8.0.1e, please look at git tag. It's the only thing you need for correct fractional frame rates, other changes in devel build are audio-related things that I'm testing.

No, I'm not going to add any changes to 7.0 builds except for hardware fixes.
Some more reasons:
Updating from "a, b, c" to d or e you need to copy the dtb file too in the update folder because the newest builds is with Nougat kernel or try other dtb.
It's not "full" Nougat kernel, only some parts ported. No dtb update needed.

S912 does not have the bootloader issue that requires a build with temperature sensor disabled.
/sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/frac_rate_policy is a switch in Nougat kernel to enable/disable fractional frame rates. It is no longer chosen automatically. I am working on a workaround for this.
I was having stuttering issues on 1080p. I originally thought it was a buffering issue but I tried this and it seems to have fixed everything. I used the same stream before and after.What does this command do?
The command disables decoder "optimization" introduced by Amlogic in this commit: PD#128412: vh264: improve fast output path in ucode · kszaq/linux-amlogic-le@88e4c06 · GitHub
Whatever that optimization is, it breaks playback of some videos. In my next build there will be no need to execute that command, I'll make this parameter default.

Try using a device tree without "nand" in the name.
Minix U1 is among S905 devices that work 100% fine with regular version, no need to disable temp sensor.
I am intermittently seeing the Kodi CodecInfo screen show that it is NOT using hardware decoding, but has dropped into software decoding with ffmpeg
It is using HW decoding, only not being shown. I suppose a Kodi bug. Don't worry about it, don't look at the codec info screen and enjoy whatever you're watching. 
This will disappoint but AFAIK currently there is no working LE image for Rockchip 3229.
The is still no driver that we need. I can see that the website mentions 20170331 buildroot but it's not yet available.
I'm having some DVB-T issues with versions 8.0.1b and 8.0.1c (8.0.1a is fine). Video is very choppy and showing as skipping a lot of frames. I've uploaded a sample that I've just quickly recorded as an example @ Dropbox - Escape to the Country-BBC ONE HD2017-04-0415-00-1.tsShows recorded in version 8.0.1b (I assume c is the same but I haven't tried) playback fine on 8.0.1a.

Amlogic 4.9 kernel is not fully functional.
I think I have solved noise during boot issue. Driver update will be available in 8.0.1d quite soon.
