Just FYI it seems the S905/options and S912/options files are pointing to kernel hash 1286521 which doesn't seem to exists and compilation fails.

1. The remote is not working properly (volume down and up), but I get around by copying the remote.conf file that is in another post. Don't know if is possible to fix that on future releases.
In the builds there is a script that tries to guess remote control configuration from Android on internal partition. Sometimes it fails and in that case it's best to provide your own file. You have to do this only once and it will persist during updates.

rTorrent is not provided by LibreELEC, you should reach to addon author for help.
DVB code in upstream LE kernel has been reverted to stock 3.14 for compatibility reasons with various DVB addons. As far as I can tell in your 8.0.2a build you are using the reverted DVB core as well.

jd17 Your link is only source code for the git tag, that's why it's so small.
The only way to make it work is to get driver source code.
I will check later today if my USB tuner works with the latest addon build. I suspect the internal DVB driver you're using may need AML DVB core. In that case users should use addon compiled specifically for your builds.
Pls, ask kszaq to recompile them with correct kernel support (nougat version). For now you can try to use tvheadend from my #1.

What happens if you install S805 addon on S905?
I surely will. When johngalt considers his work ready, I will start integrating all the improvements. Unfortunately I cannot add anything to it now as I have no HDR/4K/10-bit capable equipment.
johngalt S912 devices use libhybris only for OpenGL support/GUI rendering, everything playback related works the same way it does on S905(X) and additionally S912 is marketed as DV capable.
