Why do you compare to RPi? It is designed to boot from SD card. Your box is not.

Because it is not designed to do so. Every box needs a different bootloader and I'd have to create 100s of builds only because of this. My builds require a working bootloader (u-boot) in internal memory.

Turn your TV on before the box or provide disp_cap override:

johngalt If you modify platform_init script, it's best to remove linux and busybox from build folder to make sure the changes are applied.

Samui You cannot use xz-compressed squashfs if kernel support is not enabled.

As far as I can tell my builds should support all these chips.

Samui Remember to enable CONFIG_SQUASHFS_XZ in kernel cofig. I'd recommend using GZIP - is should also fit and is much faster to decompress.

You can stick with the previous build, the only change is freezing fix. If you can see resolution switch after LE splash you won't have freezes with this previous build.

niabi Indeed your SYSTEM image is too big. You might want to change compression method to gzip or xz, whichever fits 512MB.

Edit: I noticed that you changed the size some days ago. This is generally not a good idea, users cannot upgrade after size change. Using a different compression may help you keep the size below 512MB.

kamacnik1 For MK808B+ use MXQ build. It is buried in FAQ, I think I should expose this somehow.

I am now rebuilding 8.0.2c as I have identified and fixed freezing issue.

Device tree. Make sure you use a proper one to install and update.

I've deleted 8.0.2c from download server until the issue is resolved.
