Perhaps you can test this build (run from SD, update from 8.1.x or 8.2.x) if /dev/system is visible?

Overheating may be an issue if you set both CPU and GPU to stick at highest operating frequency.

It does seem, however, that in some cases we must wait to be able to force RGB output again, as discussed here. Do you know whether that is going to be the case again any time soon?
Amlogic messed the kernel code so much that I don't know when we will find a way to bring "force RGB" back again, sorry.

As stated here: [BUG] Frame skips caused by forced subtitles the bug won't be fixed in Krypton. We can hope that Leia will be better in that regard.

One Question: To update from your built 8.2.0 to 8.2.1 is it o.k. to place the .tar into .update and reboot?
Yes, .tar is enough.
I think it is safe to say that the builds for 905X also work for 905W (another indicator can be found here) .
So, maybe you could update the title for this thread as well as for your corresponding HowTo accordingly?I'm glad that my builds are working on S905W but I don't support running my builds on S905W.

wrxtasy Can you share the source of your dtb so that I can include it in my builds?

techclown The only WiFi chip that doesn't work is 9082xs, all other work just fine.

You do realise that libreelec is an open source project and has been developed by non-paid developers right?
donger and that builds in this thread are pre-alpha software and some thing will simply not work?

Every S905X and S912 has an analog audio chip built-in the SoC. Currently I do not offer device trees that allow to turn it off.

S905/X/S912 all use 3.14 kernel.

What is strange that removal and reinstall of the addon did not help.
You need to remove addon cache rm -rf /storage/.kodi/addons/packages, reboot and then reinstall.

Hey,
I cant use channel 136 on the 5Ghz wifi (anymore). Other 5Ghz AC channles are working and in Android 7.1 channel 136 does work correct.

I think I could use channel 136 in LE before upgrading the box to android 7.1.What can I try?
One more time pretty-please: create a separate thread and provide logs. Please don't post your issues in main builds thread as it's a tedious task to separate issue-related posts from many others. When you have a separate thread you can easily follow bug-hunting there.

likeaRAINBOW Sorry, this is not going to work. That would need 3 modifications to the code:
1. Kodi support - add additional resolutions in syfs parser for Amlogic.
2. LE scripts support - like above.
3. The hardest part - add kernel support with EDID parsing, lots of source files to modify which is very hard to do since AML code is a big mess.
And one more thing: please read the first part of OP - you cannot use anything but 1920x1080 (and 4K for playback) on S912 reliably.

Anything labelled "LibreELEC 9.0" is a pre-alpha, work-in-progress software.
Kodi 18 (Leia) is under active development and so is LIbreELEC 9.0.
If you use anything that claims to be "LibreELEC 9.0" today, you become a pre-alpha software tester.

sakos This is correct. Binary addons stop working if migrated from another platform.

You need to tell us which repo you are using and which branch. Most probably you are building an older branch and you need to cherry-pick aml-dtbtools: new package to create multi-dtbs for Amlogic. Thanks to… · kszaq/LibreELEC.tv@9ddfaa1 · GitHub

sakos Have you installed TvHeadend from LE repo? You should have.

Off topic, do you know if I can boot LibreElec from USB flash drive to Wetek Play 1? Official image or yours (if you have one).
"No" for both: it can't boot from USB and I don't provide a build for it.
