I have the same issue on my MECOOL M8S PRO L S912.
But i’m using tvheadend client and is seems that only the HD channels are effected.

Hi i installed 8.90.4 on my mecool pro L S912 and it's running great except that zapping with live tv i get a black screen and my box won't responding anymore i have plug off power.
And netflix 720p istill isn't possible any change to fix this or is this still a gpu problem? (not enough horsepower?)

Afaik it's not solved. You need to backup your settings if you changed boot.ini or if you wanna downgrade again.
Boot.ini will update if you update to leia23 and override everything in that file. User settings should go to config.ini in the future.

That is the same on ALL Android TV devices - even the official ones like Shield and Mi Box.
You need to buy an Apple TV 4 / 4K if you want such frame rate matching/switching at an OS level for nearly all Apps like Netflix.

Yes because the S912 is not running a native Linux Mali GPU video driver, there will be a performance hit when Software decoding and rendering.
It's one of the reasons why kszaq always had a warning about S912's.
Just Dual boot as suggested and use the much preferred Android TV Netflix App on the Pro L

It looks like auto framerate switch isn’t working.
Resolution stays at 1080p 60hz wich will cause microstutter.

GDPR-2 I have a MECOOL M8S PRO L and installed 8.90.3 and i tried to run netflix.
Installation of addon etc. went fine but the playback 720p is really dramatic, it stutters all the time
It looks like the CPU of my S912 can't handle SW decoding with inputstream.
Is this because of the S912 use the libhybris driver or something?
Cause my ODOID C2 S905 plays netflix 720p flawless.....

Thanks, just done that and rebooted the box and now working as expected.
One thing I am noticing when playing TV through TVH or MediaPortal TV Client on one of my boxes, that I seem to get a "red" artifact appear on the image. If i rewind back a few seconds its OK for a while and then does it again. This also occurred on LE8, my other box is absolutely fine.
It kinda looks like the days of the old fashioned blue and red 3d glasses you used to put on!
Any ideas? All other content is absolutely fine!
i have exactly the same artifacts watching live tv with tvheadend client on my mecool PRO L.
On LE8 THE same weird artifacts but only with live tv.

I wonder if the hyperion bug on amlogic exist on this device.

I can't understand your (plural) continuous reluctance to support aml devices. It's obvious that the resources aren't the best, and the development presents tough problems to handle with. But there's a big audience behind theses crap boxes because their performance is FAR BETTER than the rPi3, for a cheaper price.
From outside, I've always perceived your attitude very hostile around all GDPR-2 's work. I'm sure that I can't understand almost anything that's behind the argument, but I know that losing a developer who has showed that huge commitment about this community project, is bad for everyone, not only for aml users.
i agree he did an exellent job with builds that he provided.
