No archives. It does scale with the number of items, but this particular folder has just 101 items and it takes over 30s to open. 3s on LE11.0.6.

VLouis, no, no scanning. The folder is not scanned at all. And as I said, with the same exact setup and added folders, 11 opens immediately, 12 takes up to a minute.

I can try tomorrow. Which one is it, KODI.log, System.log or something else? There's 10 different ones in the logs export. Also I've included logs in my first post. The issue happens when accessing smb://192.168.0.216:445/Public/Video/Pohadky.

Confirmed, it's a LE 12.x issue.
Opening the SMB folder on LE 11.0.6: 1s
Opening the same folder on LE 12.0.0 or 12.0.1: almost a minute
Both totally clean installs.

Update: not really resolved. The folder I'm accessing is NOT a library but a plain SMB folder (as in, it's a video source with None as a type of content as it's a hodgepodge of files and folders, not worthy or even possible of cleaning up and scraping).
Entering Libraries such as Movies and Shows is quick. Entering a plain SMB folder is dog slow.
I know you have resolved this issue, but I'd just add that this type of issue has happened to me before and it has always been a DNS problem for me.
In the past, I've added a DNS entry into the LibreELEC hosts file, this has worked but not always .. and when this didn't work I had to change my SMB share configuration in KODI to use the server IP address rather than the hostname.
Cheers
IPs are used, not hostnames. And both the Kodi Pi and the NAS do have static IPs reserved on the router.

I had to start from scratch, complete clean reinstall. 12.0.1 Working fine now.Not resolved. See below.

You can always revert back to 12.0.0 and report if that works fine or has the issue.
I don't see 12.0 download, only 12.0.1 and nightlies. Can you link?
EDIT: oh nvm, I got 12.0.0 through the LE Config util.
Downgrading to 12.0.0 did not fix the issue, nor did adjusting SMB chunk size.

Is that something sort of "get used to it, it works like that since xbmc 2001" and normal in the Kodi universe @ 2024? Or Kodi v21 is very new, contains too much experimental and untested stuff?
I have had nothing but issues after the upgrade to 12.x. The whole thing is unstable and freezing. Playback is always fine though. I consider starting from scratch with a clean install of 11.

Hi, LibreElec 12.0.1 on a Rpi4, Synology NAS connected via SMB using 1Gbps ethernet. Fine for years, but somewhere around the 12.0.1 update (I can't say with certainty it was caused by it though), I'm getting unusably slow folder access. Entering a folder with a dozen items took under 3 seconds before, now is taking almost a minute. Other clients have no issue accessing the same folders.
Video playback itself starts quickly though!
No changes in the network or the NAS. Logs are enclosed. Thanks for any help or pointers.
EDIT: clean install from scratch on a new SD card does NOT solve the issue. Whenever there's activity such as scraping new content, accessing folders via SMB takes dozens of seconds. To me, it looks like both activities run on the same thread and block each other.
EDIT2:
Confirmed, it's a LE 12.x issue.
Opening the SMB folder on LE 11.0.6: 1s
Opening the same folder on LE 12.0.0 or 12.0.1: almost a minute
Both totally clean installs.

Yes, I'm removing the addons now. It's mostly game emulation via Libretro that doesn't work in 11 anyway. Thanks.

I got zero piracy stuff, LE 11.0.3 on Rpi4 crashing every few minutes. 100% stable for years on LE 10. CEC works sometimes (Sasung MU8000 TV). Worked well on 10.

Scrolling, yeah. It's never nowhere near 60fps and never has been. I'll probably take a slow motion video and just count the frames but it looks like 30fps at best. This is how it's always been for me since Rpi2. Pí 3 and 4 are definitely way faster when decoding media and opening the library views but the UI is still the same amount of choppy. Input device doesn't matter, nor does the screen device or any settings.
The TV US getting 60fps stream, but with horrible framerate. I have no complaints abiut playback.
I'm running Kodi since the very first Pi 1, and the only meaningful UI smoothness upgrade (huge of course) was going from 1 to 2.

Are there any plans to improve GUI performance on Rpi4? I have no issues with playback at all but the fact that the GUI (running at 1080p, tried even 720p to no avail) is not any smoother than what it is on Rpi3 (or even 2!) three years in is a bit disappointing.
Any tips? It looks like sub-30Hz. Using the default Estuary skin, LE 10.0.2. Thanks.

Universal Movie Scraper stopped scraping newly added movies for me in November (silently, no error message or anything). Anything else added is not recognized. TV series are fine.
Log here. Libreelec 10.0.0.1 on Rpi4.
What to do? Thanks.

I have LE 10.0.0 working on a Rpi4 2GB with a Samsung NU8000 for over a year. Control via CEC always worked, until this morning.
- RC works in TV UI
- I can control Kodi just fine with other means
- HDMI cable is plugged into the port next to the power plug, hasn't been moved, unplugged, anything physical
- no update of either LE nor the TV FW took place (auto-update is disabled on both)
- replugging, rebooting, using the other micro HDMI port, nothing helps
- LE update to 10.0.1 doesn't fix
- resetting CEC to default doesn't fix
What else can I do? Thanks!
EDIT: it just started working again on its own. Can anyone explain how is that even possible?
