ok so i will revert the patch.
it's better to have something stable.
"installtointernal" was just a wrong security parameter.

Tryed another sd clean install: 'Could not connect to repository' with kodi repo and Libreelec repo working. This happen with ethernet connection,
With wifi all is working ok. If I disable wifi and back to ethernet kodi repo seems working, but can't download from some sources. Modland addon too seems can't connect to internet.
Switching back to wifi all starts working again. Note not all internet conneciton is not working with ethernet: I was able to install simple pvr client from libre elec repo.
can you try this one and check if fixe IP is ok and Ethernet is now stable?
Edit:
Now kodi repository unaccessible with clean install and boot from sd. Have to try change sd (64Gb) and test all again.
not sure i fully understand. i've test the images: kodi repo, LE repo are available and work like expected. i've install a few addons without any troubles.

dunno why but on last images some execute (x) permissions are missing.
i will fix that.
the linux (3.10) that we use for s802/s812 is too old .
check docker on Amlogic builds
Could you easly put in future releases 'power menu' --> 'Reboot from internal' like 17.6?
17.6 was a Balbes150 fork.
8.9.xx is a "true" LibreELEC fork.
With 8.9.xx i had to mod the bootloader script(to be able to install2internal), i need to patch the lan (to fix ip issue).
i don't know if it will still be possible to easily implement "reboot form internal" via a simple diff from Balbes works
I would like having stable version in internal and testing in SD and not to have to phisically go to minix to swhitch between them.
if i'm not wrong , Kodi 18 will be our latest usable kodi version on s802/812. Maybe LE team can confirm it?
what's the future of the pair amlogic|kodi?
will patch this next build
Can't fix ip in ethernet interface: mac always change. Also if I put libreelec config -> manual configuration for ipv4 and save at reboot it return auto-dhcp.
will check. i use x8-h exclusively with wifi/dhcp.
tar is to update but if you do that, your 17.6 version is gone.
Display MoreHi Datrh,
I have the X8-H Plus, currently running Kodi 17.6 from SD card.
I put this image in the Kodi update folder.
After reboot and decompressing the file, it indicated error and stated this is not compatible with Gen-1 hardware.
Can this be rectified?
Thanks.
if you want to use the tar, you need to put in the "update folder" a .nocompat file.
i would suggest to first test the new image on a spare SD.
if you want to be able to install the new image on internal, you need also to "toothpick". (it"s backward compatible with 17.6 img)

Repatch bootloader you mean boot with the clip in the hole?
The only trouble I found with 8.9.x and this is not acceptable is often minix hang with black screen when I stop a video.
I think boot to internal a good way to have stable version and opportunity to test new versions without have to use many SD cards
did you activate the "adjust refresh rate" and set a "whitelist"?
