I want to give my dad my old x96 s905x box with libreelec, so I can choose a new box for myself. I want to use the box in my bedroom where I dont have wired internet. So I need a box with 5ghz wifi. I dont have a 4k tv so 1080p streaming is the max for me. I only want to use libreelec on the box.

Is the only difference between Mecool m8s pro L and the h96 pro plus that the Mecool doesn't have a gigabet network adapter?

I dont need LE9 unofficial. I use Libreelec 8.1.10 on my s905x boxes with the youtube, smoothstreams and some movie addons I think I can not name it here. I have a lot of dutch spoken movies on a external 1TB harddrive that I want to use on my box. For these purposes, is the s912 box faster than the s905x box?

zmokkie, why do you want to limit it to the 905x boxes? Yes, the Amlogic S912 are a little more $$, but they are sooooo much faster.
Out of more that two dozen boxes I have purchased in the last 4 or 5 years, the Mecool M8S Pro L, is/was the best box by far that I have every used. I even have an expensive Zidoo X9S, that is collecting dust, because I prefer to use my Mecools. I also have the Mecool M8S Pro PLUS (S905x), and Mecool M8S Pro.
I am running LibreELEC on my Mecool M8S Pro (S912), and use it as my tvheadend and Emby servers.
Because I thought that the s912 boxes were not faster. And I have created a libreelec skin/build and micro sd card image that I can use on all my s905x boxes and the boxes for friends and family. Is there an easy way to transfer my build from a s905x box to a s912 box?

I have the x96, mini m8s ii and the beelink mini mxiii (all s905x) and all the boxes work perfect with libreelec. But I bought the boxes a time ago and I am afraid that if I buy another one (I want to give my dad and sister a kodi box) I get different hardware with a lot of issues.
When I map my remote keys with the kodi addon keymapeditor and save it, does this make a remote.conf file that I can copy to other boxes as well?

is it possible on the Beelink mini mxIII II that when I press the power off button (red one) on my remote, that I get the choice to power off my box or reboot?
When I press the button now the box immediately powers off.

Yes, you can boot another (or the same) version of LE from SD card.

I want to install libreelec to internal after running it for a while from microsd card. Just curious if there is any difference in speed.
But if I install to internal, am i still be able to boot from microsd card if I insert a microsd card with a different version of libreelec? Or do I need to revert back to android first and than install libreelec on micro sd card the normal way (power+reset button).
Hi 8.1.7 works great on my x96 box and mini m8s II. I use 16gb micro sd cards with my own build. I have some faster 32gb cards that I want to use. What is the easiest way to copy the 16gb card to the 32gb card so that I can use the full size of the card? I know I can backup the 16gb card with windiskimager and write it to the 32gb card, but than I can not use the full size of the card (only 16gb).

When I boot libreelec from sd, is it in some way possible to use the internal storage for downloading videos or copy videos, music from my pc? Or is it only possible to use the sd card storage?
hi, thanks for your awesome work. I have used this libreelec firmware on my x96 box and it works like a charm. My box is a x96 905x 2gb/16gb box. I have also 2 mini m8s ii boxes with 905x and 2gb/16gb. Can I use the micro sd card that is in my x96 box in the mini m8 boxes because it has the same specs (905x 2gb/16gb 100mbit) or will this not work?
