I am getting some strange unwanted autorepeats at times from the HID Xiaomi BT remote, likely caused by the enable autorepeat for all devices patch.
Any chance of a running a test version with that single Kernel patch reverted pls ?

You are trying to play 10bit (part10) H264 content aka Hi10P Anime. An unsupported custom "Scene" video compression method.
There is no hardware video decoder on any hardware platform for 10bit H264 content, so software decoding is attempted and the 4 CPU Core - AMLogic S905(x) do not have enough power to do such software decoding.
8.1.7 rebuilt and uploaded with (hopefully) a fix for "split screen" issue from the first build and Xiaomi remote patch from wrxtasy
Gave it a good thrashing and all fixed for switching & 4K video output.

I have weird reaction with release 8.1.7 with resolution 4k, I know it is not supported officialy. But, when I set my screen resolution to 3840x2160 my screen is split in two.
Yes I can confirm that horizontal split screen bug as well.
kszaq - can you add this Xiaomi Mi Box BT remote mapping to your LE 8.1.7 release please ?

It is used in conjunction with:
makes for a very snappy LibreELEC box !
8.1.7 will be uploaded in a few minutes (with vsync working), changelog coming today evening.
Yes screen tearing confirmed fixed !
Nice work kemosabe
Can you point me in the right direction. PlayTV DVB-T Dual Hardware Tuner ?
You can usually find them available on:
Thx mate, as I suspected.
All these inbuilt tuners are all single Hardware tuners - not the same as my more flexible external USB PlayTV DVB-T Dual Hardware tuner.
Try having a read of this TvHeadend Server setup guide (click)
There is also this official TvHeadend server guide (click)
To restart TvHeadend server setup: Configuration Tab > Start Wizard
For the guys that have S905D - Mecool K1 Pro boxes....
Do these devices come with Dual independent TV tuners ?
As an example the WeTek Play2 has various Tuner options like a combined DVB-C/T/T2.
If I then go into the Tvheadend server setup only a single DVB-C/T/T2 is shown, this limits recording TV and watching another entirely seperate MUX TV channel at the same time, due to the single tuner already being used for recording.
I also have a PlayTV USB Dual DVB-T tuner, this shows up in TvHeadend as two distinct independent TV Tuners:
DVB-T #0 and
DVB-T #1
What do S905D K1 Pro users see in the DVB-Inputs TvHeadend server config tab ?
Decided to do a DIY because the Xiaomi Remote really deserves to get some LibreELEC lovin'
It's the best simple remote I've ever used especially with Android TV on WeTek devices !

Is the Android TV Experience (on MECOOL M8S Pro+) comparable with that of Android TV on WeTek Play 2 using the [ROM] [Play 2] [Marshmallow] Android TV v2.3 by ricardopvz?
The ATV v2.3 ROM on the Play2 is superior.
It is more stable and for some reason snappier - I suspect because WeTek use faster, higher quality RAM and eMMC storage in the Play2.
Kodi Krypton Refresh switching works in ATV ROM on the Play2, broken on the M8S Pro+
Deinterlacing quality using Live Channels is superior on Play2.
u-boot is also better on the Play2. There are some u-boot Firmware quirks with the M8S Pro+
Only addition I would make to the Play2 ATV ROM is the GUI App drawer icon and TWRP recovery - that the M8S Pro+ ROM has.
I agree with your post mostly but this. The CEC was flawless on RPi so you can use it with the remote of the tv out of the box.
With amlogic boxes I haven't figured out yet why sometimes the CEC doesn't work.
The only comparable HDMI-CEC control is on the S905 ODROID C2 because the LE developers have had access to the u-boot source code to bug bust and also received custom code tweaks from Hardkernel themselves.
All other AMLogic boxes run their own pre compiled seller supplier u-boot binaries that does not get bug busted and tested properly. No access to such source code from the cheap AMLogic boxes sellers either.
The RPi3 was old hardware when it was released. It been pushed impressively as far as it will go, push it too far an it will overheat.
It needs a pretty specific 5.1V 2.5A power supply, is slower, does not support hardware decoding of 1080p / 4K HEVC, does not have proper Hardware deinterlacing and cannot do 4K or HD audio passthrough.
It cannot Hardware decode everything you throw at it like the AML S905's can do.
There is also no fast eMMC flash storage & it shares its Ethernet with a USB2 bus. No onboard IR receiver as well, so you cannot just unpack it out of the box and use with an IR remote.
Unless you are connecting all sorts of external Hardware peripherals that need a modern Linux kernel and modern driver support a $35 AMLogic S905(x) box really is superior for LibreELEC.
kszaq great little mod for speeding up LibreELEC performance and still retaining dual boot LE / Android.
For those Newbies that do not know how to access LibreELEC to copy and paste the above commands (one line at a time)
Plug a EDIMAX EW-7811Un - RTL8188CUS Chipset - USB WiFi dongle in and it will work out of the box. That 2.4GHz N Band one is $8
BTW, fro my experience, MECOOL's M8S Pro + wifi is not supported in libreelec.
Anything can be fixed with known working Realtek USB dongles such as the Edimax USB dongles
Booting to Android Recovery or TWRP Recovery sometime may be enough to stop LibreELEC from Autobooting again when you power on or reboot from Android.
In that case simply hold in the Reset button again, or whatever method you first used - when connecting power to restart autobooting into LibreELEC.
Plug in the IR extender cable and try that. Change remote batteries....
But the ultimate solution is to buy a Wireless remote like the MINIX A2 Lite or a Mele F10 Deluxe.
The Hub's IR remote is the worst IR hardware I ever used on any AMLogic box period.
