Any advantages of doing this instead of using something like Ubuntu minimal?

How is it possible to use gparted when I'm not able to install it in LibreELEC since I cannot use apt-get?Create a bootable USB drive with Ubuntu, Gparted is in there and you can run Ubuntu "live".
-
PlayerDebug can be displayed using Ctrl-Shift-o on a keyboard.Not everyone use a keyboard with LibreELEC, you can map it to a button on the remote, this is why i added the keymap.

With "Allow passtrough" activated " Passthrough output device" is still greyed out?
Try switching the "Audio output device" to see if it stays the same and don't forget to adjust the "Number of channels" -
Try this below without including "curlclienttimeout" or "curllowspeedtime".
Quote
<advancedsettings>
<cache>
<buffermode>"1"</buffermode>
<memorysize>"104857600"</memorysize>
<readfactor>"12.0"</readfactor>
</cache>
</advancedsettings>
The problems could also be on the other end(servers you are streaming from). -
On libreELEC the option passthrough output device is grayed out, I am getting audio from my TV (HDMI) and my Audio Receiver (SPDIF).Is there a way to have spdif audio only?
Thanks !
Did you activate passtrough "Allow passtrough"? -
You could bring it back by simply adding this below in your keymaps XML. This is actually what i have in my gen.xml file to bring the old "codecinfo" back, put which key you want to use where "61525" is.

<keymap><fullscreenvideo><keyboard><key id="61525">playerdebug</key></keyboard></fullscreenvideo></keymap> -
Yes the USB dongle, it comes with a nice app for easy mapping of your remote buttons

Did you take a look into the Flirc, i own two of them and they work great.

When Backgrund Video stops a can fix it with key mapping?
Just to give you an example, i remapped some keys and now when i press "back" on my controller i get back to the homescreen and the movie keep playing in the background, going back to the movie is easy as pressing fullscreen.
Don't know about "Live TV" i don't have a tuner in my HTPC. -
If you want to easily remap the buttons from your remote using an addon then yes.
You can remap your back button, i suggest you read on how to use the addon first. -
The screenshot you saw might of been dual boot of (LibreELEC and Wndows/Ubuntu...).
I don't think what you are asking is possible yet, but you might have a better answer in the Android/Amlogic section of the forum. -
Easy way is to install the Keymap Editor addon
-
In my case for LibreELEC i prefer using a USB2.0 port from the motherboard, i get less problem.
As for the USB drive, USB2 or 3.0 don't make any difference now.Try messing around with "xhci/ehci hand-off" in Bios
-
Try disabling Fast boot in Bios and switch to "Legacy" or "UEFI" only.

Good to hear you got it working somehow.
If you boot with Ubuntu live you might be able to fix or change the bootloader to not have to leave the "dummy" USB drive plugged in all the time. -
If your talking about the partition created at LE installation, it is called "Storage" check for it in File manager.
"Storage" is where your downloads will be saved in the downloads folder.
If you don't see "Storage" for whatever reason, in File manager you can "add source" then click "Browse" look for "Home folder" which has the exact same folders as "Storage",
or "Root filesystem" then you will see "Storage" near the bottom of the list.
