I get a consistent offset between the pressure point and the cursor's position
You can adjust settings in config file /storage/.config/ts/ts.conf like variance and dejitter. Play with some values and maybe will work better.
After editing this file you need to reboot.
Can someone try this touchscreen calibration addon? It must be manually installed.

But when it comes to using the Program Addon for calibration
True - Kodi Krypon changed something and addon is not visible under Programs. But from the last time I didn't look this further. Will do this on top of my todo list and report back here.
Update: I think addon is installed just not enabled in Kodi. You need to go to Addons, search for this addon and enable it.

Seems aliases.conf must be edit but I dont know if this is possible without making custom image. Maybe it would be possible through alsa.conf in /storage but not sure.
You need to use image made by CvH which has support for TBS tuners.
Any thoughts on how I can achieve this?
I think you should manually set different volume labels at least on USB stick or use UUID in extlinux.cfg.

Do you see new kodi share in windows explorer? If only hidden files are problem then you need to enable to see them somewhere in windows explorer.
Addon you found does nothing itself - it is part of my tslib solution to manage touchsreen. But for this you need special image with this included. In the past I build images from time to time but I don't do that anymore for a different reasons.
You could of saved time by just saying there isnt any.
You want tutorial? In this case you are out of luck. Mostly because no one is taking time to make a wiki note. As usually it is mostly take actions and not giving back 
There is OE wiki entry and also this. But outdated.
Just start looking how other addons are made and start working on yours. If this is to hard then I assume whole addon idea is to hard for you also.
