BLUF: How do I include firmware in the image install process?

DISCUSSION: I am building a custom LibreELEC fork to test specific hardware (Intel Compute Stick STCK1A8LFC).
I have taliored the build scripts to target "silvermont" for both -march and -mtune and have successfully built the
RTL8723BS RIO WIFI driver. However, there are two firmware files that I believe need to be included. I can manually
add them but I would rather include it in the automated build/install process.

encript, the support you are looking for is currently being upstreamed. As per hadess:

Consider the existence of this GitHub repository as historical
documentation. Patches that were shipped as part of this repository have
mostly been subsided and obsoleted by upstream kernel fixes.

Support for Bluetooth, and the firmware files are also in the process
of being made available upstream, and will be removed when that happens.

I have no idea when the driver will move from the staging area to a mainline kernel, nor when that kernel will be included in LibreELEC. But, as you can see, it is already in progress. Until the driver is included in an official release, I suggest purchasing the NETGEAR AC600 Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Mini Adapter. It works well and is affordable.
