How are you trying to install FrePlay? It's possible it's the repo and not the add-on that is banned.
Which repo are you using?

I've got a DAC on a RPi B+ and a DIGI on a RPi 2 running without issues. So I would.
1) Double check that the pins are seated correctly. It can easily be positioned one pin out.
2) Install something like moode or runeaudio or volumio as they will set the defaults needed.
3) If none of the above work, then the unit could be faulty. Post a message on the hifiberry forum for advise.
BTW: What RPi are you using it on?

HiassofT Interesting information. I can't believe Hifiberry would have produced HW without the support
ibwt Try the latest Raspian and see if it works on that
It seems to be related to the upgrade. I installed 7.95.1 and all worked as expected. I then downgraded to 7.90.10 and everything worked as expected. I then upgraded to 7.95.1.
When playing a video, the error occurs in the log and the screen goes black. However. if you then try and play the video again, it all works.
Rebooted: The first time you try to play a video it just hangs. Esc out and then go back to playing and it all works.
Upgrading from 7.90.010 to 7.95.1 videos are unplayable.
kodi log shows.

<Log ediited>
Resetting to 7.90.010 everything is fine
I would have thought the error message is obvious - it's banned.
LE does not and will not support banned nor illegal addons.
A number of suggestions.
After a crash.
Post the output of /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.old.log and kodi_crashlog_<date of crash>
or ssh into the Cubox. From separate windows run.
1) tail -f -n 30 /storage/.kodi/kodi.log
2) journalctl -f -n 30
and view the results just before the crash.
Without any sort of log it is VERY difficult to debug.
Are they overclocked in any way? Can the IP address be pinged when it has crashed? Are they using the same type of power supply?
It could be anything - faulty SD card, faulty Pi, faulty power.
Just because they are the same doesn't mean they act the same. I have 2 Rpi B+. One reboots if I plug in a USB device the other doesn't.
Where are you seeing the message?
Can you post it (Not all of it) but a good snippet of it, or paste all of it at pastebin.com and post the link.
This has to be a Kodi display issue. I guess they assumed that most devices would be C:/Kodi or /dev/sda1 or such like, which would fit nicely under "Filesystem". However /dev/mmcblkp0x seems to overfill the space and offsets the rest of the values.
Thus it "seems" to give incorrect values. but in fact they are correct.
The reason to use the LE installer is that it works. most people use it and any issues are known and fixed.
Have you looked at LE's network-tools addon? It might have something that you can use, or possibly use "docker" for your needs.
It also might help if you explained what you are trying to do, to require these tools on a media centre.
I'm guessing the HDD is powered off of a USB HUB and formatted as NTFS. Did you by chance run a chkdsk? If so, check the chkdsk folders (Been a long time since Windoze - so can't remember the folder names - something like "files.001").
Kodi "Update library" will only read the HDD and will not modify it in anyway.
I'd check the disk in Windows first to see if there are any problems if you haven't already.
Otherwise you'll need to post a few logs and additional information.
BTW: There is an addon called "missing movies" which will scan the HDD and read the library and advise of any movies not found - usually due to naming problems.
Could it be possible to have pastebinit as:
1) ssh type GUI where all normal debug options are displayed and selects the required option.
2) Allow passing an argument like LE1 = dmesg, LE2 = kodi.log. LE3 = journelctl LEALL etc.
so instead of pastebinit /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log one would just use pastebinit LE2
This would make it easier to request a particular log file.
Also what is the different between paste and pastebinit - both seem to do the same thing?
Any chance the tile could be changed as people might think 7.90.11 is different to 7.95.1
Can you marked the thread as solved and include the actions you took to solve the issue.
This will help other users searching for the same issue.
Are you asking how to share a drive under MAC OSX or how to access it from LE?
If LE. Go to Videos --> Add source --> Windows SMB -> Select server address (NB: This may not work as there was an issue with SMB in LE 7.95.x) so add it directly as smb://<server address>/<folder>
Upgraded from what to what (7.90.010?)
Have you modified advancedsettings.xml?
