The processor is not normally the problem - it's the graphics that cause the most issues. As Klojum mentioned - just try it on a USB flash drive.

I would first check all your connections and if they look OK, change the HDMI cable.
If that doesn't help post a full debug log as explained in my signature and also the output of dmesg | paste
It "might" show up a problem. But it sounds more like H/W than S/W.
You could also try the alpha release - LE9 8.90.003 if all else fails.

Do you want Ubuntu and Kodi at the same time? If, not you can boot off a USB stick when you need LE and remove the USB stick when you want Ubuntu.
The problem I can see is that both the LE Kodi and the Ubuntu Kodi really need to be the same release. If you're on a LE 8 (Kodi 17) and your Ubuntu is fairly recent 14.04+ then you should be OK.

Interesting. I've tested TVH on RPI3 without issues.
1) Is this RPI3 or RPi3+
2) Can you provide the output of
dmesg | paste
lsmod | paste
lsusb | paste
3) I assume TVH was installed via LE repository.

RE: DVD folders. This condition has been noted and is being investigated - a solution is available but is not ideal.
Please continue to use the 8.90.003 image as we need to investigate all potential problems. Without your input, bugs could remain undetected. This is what alpha builds are for - they are not fully working releases but a snapshot of what is to come.

Let's start from scratch.
You want to use the remote as you want the function of power on/power off. I'm not an expert but I am not too sure these boxes can be powered on/off via remote. Normally a power recycle is needed.
To assist: Please provide a full debug log as explained in my signature and also the output of dmesg | paste

If it's anything like my Mecool S905X, I have LE on a SD card with /storage on the internal eMMC. To boot back to Android I just remove the SD card.

You've been here before - so you should know we are not all mind readers.
If it's S905X then you should be able to follow the AML instructions and see if it boots. - Try different dtb files to suit your box and if it works - great.
BUT, just cos it's 905X means dog poo, because all of the other HW has more of an issue.
Provide FULL details of the FULL H/W and it MIGHT be possible to deduce what is possible.

You've been here before, so you should know the procedure. No log file, no problem.
Not too sure what image you are using but LE has NOT released an official test image for LE9 (Kodi 18 Leia) for AML. ARE you sure it's not CE?

k3nnis As my crystal ball is currently in for it's 100,000 useless answers service, you'll need to tell us what platform you are using.
If you want "Blu Ray menu" try LE9 and if works, then great, if not, then file a bug report. - We can only test certain parts of LE9, we do not have a warehouse full of every USB device available to mankind, nor an infinite amount of monkeys banging away at keyboards to find faults.

Looks to me as if there is not enough power to "power" your devices. Firstly look at the amperage of you PSU to the RPi and secondly try using a powered hub.

Hello
Great news but I'm so disappointed
since I'm using a SolidRun box
I too have a Cubox-i which has now been re-tasked to other duties. However the 8.90.003 NXP does compile but as chewitt mentioned there are problems with the video drivers. It boots and works well apart from not displaying anything for more than a couple of seconds - so not a lot of use. Once the drivers have been sorted out, it's possible a community build could be available before LE10 but I wouldn't hold your breath.;

Glad you got it working - JuiceSSH defaults to 22 so you must have sticky fingers.
-
Lets start with the basics:
What release of LE are you using and can you provide a debug log file as detailed in my signature.

Firstly, make sure you music follows the Kodi music structure. Here.
Also - Some music may not be able to be scanned as the tag may be wrong or it could be an unknown recording or an unknown import.
You could try exporting to an XML file in Settings --> Media --> Music Library --> Export Library and see if that works with "special characters"
I'm also pretty sure that when scanning - all non found or rejected music are logged in the kodi.log file.

Reading this seems to suggest that the device tree might be incorrect. I think you need to experiment with all of the different dtb's and see if one works. I only have a S905x so cannot comment on your HW.
