I have the same problem but this solution didn't fix it. Anything else I might try?
I have a PENDOO T95M (T95M Android Tv Box Built in 2.4G 5G WiFi Amlogic S905 16.0 Android 5.1 OS Quad Core 2GB/8GB H.265 4K media player T95M-in Set-top Boxes from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group) I initially tried the gxbb_p200_2G_100M.dtb but it would freeze while booting up. I reverted to the Stock DTB.IMG and it seemed to boot up just fine and I ran the script to install to internal. Damn, I love the speed! It's sooo much faster than my A95X.
My only gripe is there is no facility during installation that allows you to specify a larger internal SD size. You get a 4GB storage partition whether you have a larger one or not. I have an 8GB internal partition in my T95M. I am thinking of trying to modify the install_to_internal script to format a bigger partition or is it a moot point because it restores an IMG with a fixed size?
Any fix for screen calibration not taking effect on the player? I perform the screen calibration on my A95X unit on my plasma TV in the living room. The screen calibration fixes the GUI, but the video player is not affected. My player buttons are cut off at the bottom of my screen. It's like the calibration is not taking effect on the player.
I followed this guide: HOW-TO:Modify automatic watch and resume points - Official Kodi Wiki
I have only tried this on my T95M and it's not taking effect. I put the advancedsettings.xml in /storage/.kodi/userdata/ with the following:
<advancedsettings>
<video>
<playcountminimumpercent>75</playcountminimumpercent>
<ignoresecondsatstart>180</ignoresecondsatstart>
<ignorepercentatend>25</ignorepercentatend>
</video>
</advancedsettings>
But I have to watch a show until the end of the video to get it to check it off as watched or manually mark it as watched.
At first I thought it could be a permissions issue so I 'chmod 777 advancedsettings.xml' thinking that it's not able to read it, but, nope. The same effect exists.
S905 vs S905x performance is VERY different. My S905 T95M is SOOO much faster than my S905X based A95X. Just to make sure that I was not taking something into account, I updated both boxes to the most recent ROM 8.1.6, then I backup up my A95X and restored it onto my T95M and just began to do basic stuff like clean libraries, drill down through menus, run TRAKT sync, etc. and in every instance my T95M just blows the a95x away.
I looked at the specs of the droid-O2 and tried to match the specs with TV box, and I think I found my perfect unit. The droid-o2 was very expensive and it came with no case or remote. So matching the specs with the droid-02, I think I have done much better than I had anticipated.
What settings is hdmi-cec to turn the box on and off.
It is now only turning off, no turning on
In the system settings there will the a section with a sub-heading that says peripherals. You will find the CEC setting there that you can set to turn your devices on or off with the box.
Driver is not implemented in my builds.
I think I found the driver at GitHub - yixiaoyang/amlogic905_fd628_driver: FD628 数码管驱动for Amlogic905
Well, it's not like a deal breaker or anything of the like. Just more icing on the cake.
Thank you for all your hard work and for putting up with noobs like me.
Is there any guide that you can recommend for programming the remotes keys to functions?
My T95M has an LED display. Is there anything I can add to Kodi to use it?
HI everyone in about 20 minutes I'm going to do a fresh install to NAND on a T95M with 2GB RAM and 8GB NAND. T95M Android Tv Box Built in 2.4G 5G WiFi Amlogic S905 16.0 Android 5.1 OS Quad Core 2GB/8GB H.265 4K media player T95M-in Set-top Boxes from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group
I plan on using the LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.1.6.img.gz and gxbb_p200_2G_100M.dtb even though the specs on the aliexpress page say GIGABIT, I'm pretty sure it's not true.
If I'm about to make a mistake, please let me know. I have done this previously on my A95X, but never on an S905 based unit, so I am a little nervous about it.
This might be worth a read Budget AMLogic S905/S905X/S912 Media Player Options
Have you installed to internal? It might speed it up
Yeah, its already installed to internal.
It won't run libreelec, 'cos the bootloader's locked down.
DAMN, addons on my A95X 1G/8G run very slow. It frustrates me, I am looking for an inexpensive replacement with a faster processor and more ram. I figured for $69 dollars it was a good option since it came with an S905 and 2G of RAM. Should I go with an Odroid-C2 then?
- Please read forum rules on posting links.
- It won't work, it's S912. S912 builds here: [8.1.6] LibreELEC 8.2 for S912
OK so the S912 has problems because of the Mali according to this post:
LibreELEC 8.0 for Amlogic S912 devices.
WARNING!!!
If you consider buying a device for LE, do not buy Amlogic S912!
Amlogic has not released fbdev Mali libraries. This build uses libhybris and Android gralloc Mali driver to provide OpenGL for Kodi - because of this the builds will always be experimental until proper Linux libraries are released (if ever).
So will a XIAOMI Mi Box be a good alternative? It's S905 based from what I can tell, but with a Mali 450MP3. Will that be a problem as well?
On my Wetek HUB, nope. But then again, I have no crappy add-ons installed.
Spinning circles come from buffering issues. If Kodi is waiting for content to come in, your content is the problem.
This is not likely to happen on a local network, but more than likely on internet connections. I guess you can figure out that part yourself.
So what exactly would it be buffering trying to get to the search box of crappy addons?
None of my PC's have old HDDs, it's all SSD now. And SSDs are not the problem. I mean the initialisation and start of a video. Wether the network is slow or the videocard needs to wake up, I see some differences with my various kodi devices.
So you don't get those spinning circle delays with your AMLOGIC boxes?
PC builds aren't necessarily the fastest LibreELEC devices.
Well I would probably be using DDR4 RAM and an Solid Disk. So I highly doubt that.
Apart from the AMlogic devices, there is also the Nvidia Shield TV, which is an allround device with active Nvidia support. It's not a LibreELEC device, and it is in a different price range though.
If I had to spends $200 plus shipping I rather build the custom PC.
If spinning circles are the problem, you need to doublecheck your network, and see where/when there are hiccups. If using wireless, get an ethernet cable.
My A95X is already on ethernet connected directly to my router on a fiber connection. My issues are not bandwidth related. For example try to get from the main menu, to the SEARCH feature on any of your favorite or popular addons whatever it may be, Covenant, Elysium or whatever. You haven't even searched yet, you haven't used any bandwidth yet, and you've just had to wait for several spinning circles to disappear before you can search for the LOVE BOAT on the TV SHOW SEARCH. Why should there be a spinning circle in between menus? If you had to go 5 menus deep with a 3 second spinning circle in between each level, it gets really tiresome. What miniature device could I purchase to avoid that?
Would this unit work with the Libreelec firmware with Device tree gxl_p212_3g.dtb?
