No audio in BT headphones after 1 min and then no audio via HDMI

I have a LibreELEC 8.0.0 installed on a 64GB microSD card on Raspberry Pi 3.

When I connect any BT headphones and change the audio output (via AudioProfiles) and play a video mostly through Quasar/Exodus the audio goes off after a few minutes and then there is no audio either through BT or even through HDMI in TV. I have to reboot to get the audio back. Moreover, sometimes the entire Pi hangs and takes a lot of time to go back to menus and exit.

I have tried with 2 headphones but the problem persists.

Has been discussed many times. The RPi3 internal bluetooth is rather weak and has difficulty supporting the bandwidth needed to sustain bluetooth audio. Try using an external bluetooth dongle.

If I connect an external bluetooth dongle, how can I select which bluetooth device to use i.e. the internal bluetooth or the external bluetooth dongle in LibreELEC?

Disable the internal bt device using the dtoverlay.

dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt
