What's the maximum gpu_mem= allowed for 4K playback on Pi4 4GB running 11.0.3 ?

What's the maximum gpu_mem= allowed for 4K playback on Pi4 4GB running 11.0.3 ?
It plays 4K but crashes when I change to different chapters of a movie.

gpu_mem won't help with hevc playback. Setting it will just leave less memory for the system.
Remove the setting, and then post a debug/crash log.
