I have exactly the same problem.
Installed LE 10 on mac-mini and LE works like a charm. Managed to remap the keys, with the help above, that solves the problem of the silver apple remote not working correctly. Now I cant change the LE volume. Even when I plug in a keyboard the volume buttons move the cursor up and down.
Have tried other remotes and, there are config files for other remotes, but no luck.
I have like a Xox 360 Universal Media Remote or geekbox remote but even if I run evtest on the "Apple Computer, Inc. IR Receiver" it doesn't do anything for any remote but the silver apple one.
On LE 10.2 it doesn't let me start LIRC so how do I get another remote working on LE 10 ?
