Suspend/resume problems on LE10.0b1/nightly x86_64 AMD Athlon

Hi,

I just wanted to try LE10 on my AMD Athlon 200G. Everything is working fine so far, besides hibernate/standby. The system goes into sleep mode, but when I try to wake it up, the screen is all glitched and the system seems to be locked up, so no logs to post:

Using internal Vega 3 GPU.

Hibenrate/standby was working fine on LE9.2.

Just to let you know: Latest nightly, wakeup still not working on my AMD setup.

Hi all,

I have a setup with AMD Athlon 3000G on Gigabyte B450 S2H and can confirm this issue still existing with latest beta 9.95.4.

I was really happy that VAAPI is running so much better now with LE10, especially with MPEG2.

But after every suspend the system is completely frozen (same screen like cyablo posted), no logs written, no SSH possible, no reaction on keyboard.

Only solution: press the reset button.

Already updated BIOS to latest version and played with disabling IOMMU in BIOS, but no success until now.

Is there anything more I might test?

Problem still exists with LE 10b5, kernel 5.10.41.

I doubt that a fix will make it to the 5.10 LTS kernel, so LE 10 will not be usable for me with my current hardware...

But I'll keep trying with every release.

Hi,

I haven't checked the kernel change logs, but current nightly for generic should come with kernel 5.10.47. So maybe it is worth a try.

I've tried with slightly newer Hardware: ASRock A520M-HVS, AMD Ryzen 3 4300GE.

Works like a charm.

As it is unlikely that bigger hardware related changes make it to a LTS kernel I will stay with this hardware. Picture quality is so much better with LE10.

I have a similar issue with my AMD Athlon II x4/Radeon HD 6450 HTPC. When I wake after suspend I just get a black screen with white cursor in top left (static, not blinking). I am running LE10.0.2 generic x86_64. It has been like this for the past few releases. Would be great to get a fix for this!

Edit: Have since tried installing on a AMD Phenom II x4/GeForce GT 1030 PC and exact same issue.

My hardware is AMD as well, and I was having the same problem of system being frozen on reboot. Curiously, other Linux distros in the same machine didn't have it. After a lot of experimentation, I found out that this fixed it for me:

echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_async

The value `1 is the Linux default, but LibreELEC has a patch that disables it: https://github.com/LibreELEC/Libr…y-default.patch

To make this change persistent create this file:
