Cannot resume movie

  • I am running the 20201014 nightly build on my Pi3. I tried to resume a movie (from the in progress section) and I got a blue spinning circle that appeared for a second or two and then disappeared, then came back again. It never left the movie listing page. I had to manually reboot.

Here is my log. Let me know if you need any more information.

  • Here are new logs. http://ix.io/2E0X http://ix.io/2E0Z

    Here is what is happening

    1. I am selecting a move from in progress.
    2. I get the dialog asking whether I want to resume or start from the beginning.
    3. I choose resume.
    4. Blue spinner appears for a few seconds
    5. Blue spinner disappears. (still on home screen)
    6. Blue spinner re-appears after a few seconds and never goes away.
    7. I waited 5 minutes before stopping.
    8. Tried to upload logs, got an error saying "Failed to paste log files, try again"
    9. Rebooted

Should I try reformatting my SD card and start over? I am also having issues where the audio is not synced up with the video

  • Klojum - I finally tracked down the cause of my problems.

I did end up reformatting my SD card and installed the 1119 nightly.

DRM PRIME. turning off the setting for "Allow using DRM PRIME decoder" allows me to resume and seek within videos now. I tried to leave that setting on and toggle the method between direct to plane and EGL but this issue still happened for both

  • Seeking is not-working in the DRMPRIME stateful decode path (H264 on all Pi boards) and the same issue also affects Amlogic, iMX6, etc. which are also stateful decoders (HEVC on RPi4 is statelesss and works fine). If you disable DRMPRIME you are software (CPU) decoding which works fine but you may struggle to decode higher bitrate content. It's a long-running issue that hasn't had a eureka moment yet, and it's the primary reason we may not initially release RPi images for LE10.
