Wetek Play 1: After upgrade to Alpha 006 (from LE 8) no upgrade/downgrade possible

  • I neither can downgrade back my Wetek play 1 box from LE 8.95.002 to LE 8.2.5.

(There was also a strange thing seen twice. After upgrade from LE 8.2.5 to LE 8.95.002, copying some files and doing a power cycle the system started with reporting file system corruption error. I let it to correct them - thousands of lines running on the screen - and finally the system was recovered without any obvious loss.)

  • Hi all,

I can see upgrade issue with Wetek Play (OpenElec version).
I'm running LibreELEC for some time and last version I had was 8.2.5.

I did upgrade from 8.2.5 to 8.95.1 version. It was OK and works.

But upgrade from 8.95.1 to 8.95.2 does not work. Tried twice over-air upgrade, but there is still 8.95.1 version.

    Tried manual way:

    1. copied 'LibreELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-8.95.002.tar' file to ./storage/.update dir. Twice and did not help.
    2. copied only SYSTEM and KERNEL to the ./storage/.update dir.

    Maybe some problem with space?

Anyway the 8.95.1 now works, just upgrade to the newer version can be problematic.

    Any idea?

  • CvH: Sorry that it took so long but now I tried what you suggested.

In the mean time I was able to upgrade to Beta 1 and 2 (thanks to my post-flash.sh script).

I removed all files from /flash except for KERNEL and SYSTEM, copied LibreELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-8.95.001.tar into the Update Samba share and rebooted. The result was again: Missing (target) kernel.img or SYSTEM!.
