Test LibreELEC images with KODI-18 for S9xxx

  • Libreelec-AMLGX.aarch64-9.1 / 20190507_test_dvb. balbes150

1- Libreelec-AMLGX.aarch64-9.1 Fixed problem with PVR service. (Works perfectly with dvb afl1 )

2- Interface faster, better yet more unstable.

Already better than any existing version with kernel 3.14:D

3- Live TV broadcast very smooth as said with

    LibreELEC-AMLGX.arm-9.1.

4- Just need to improve the video quality of SD channels a bit. Well, and most of them here on my TV.:@

No words to thank, a commendable job compared to kernel 3.14.8o:thumbup:

Wired network has again reverted to being unavailable on power up and incapable of being switched on.

Sound options continue to be 'greyed out'.

No point in trying to go any further.

  • In the build of today (20190510_test_dvb) the wifi already works in both bands(2,4Ghz and 5Ghz). But not the bluetooth

I think there's something wrong with compilations.

I installed the latest version of the LibreELEC-AMLGX.arm-9.1-devel-20190510._test_dvb data.

More I see in kodi version build date LibreELEC-AMLGX.arm-9.1-devel-20190506_test_dvb.

  • Version 20190512. Transition to a universal common core for all AML. Added test images for LePotato NanoPi K2 Odroid C2 models.

  • As mentioned in previous post in this thead, now able to simply download tar file, transfer on network into update folder, for an in-situ reboot to update of my KVIM2 PRO. Just done so for 20190512 :)

I did notice after this partcular update from 20190510 that my previous manual settings for wired lan connection were lost requiring me to re-input etc?

(Known Wireless & Bluetooth not currently working on Vim2 Pro, requiring drivers for kernel_5.x)

All other user setup elements i.e. installed addons + settings appeared to be in order.

rPi3B+, SanDisk Ultra 8Gb SD, Milhouse kernel_5.x LE Testbuild (Kodi 19 Matrix) -> Onkyo TX-SR608 AV Receiver -> Philips 42" LCD TV

    KVIM2 Pro, SanDisk Ultra 8Gb SD, kernel_5.x LE Testbuild (Kodi 19 Matrix) -> LG 27UD69-W 4K Monitor -> AudioEngine A2+ Speakers

  • MikeKL connman stores network profile data in a format based on MAC address and the boot-time logic for ensuring persistent MAC addresses has changed (so the address changed and you had to re-enter things). From this point forwards it shouldn't change again.

New version LibreELEC-AMLGX.arm-9.1-devel-20190512 without dvb adapters.

    Test done with meson-gxl-s905d-p230.dtb. unsuccessfully.

I tried meson-gxl-s905d-ki-pro.dtb. I tried dvb from the previous version unsuccessfully.

I tried to update with the tar file.

  • Possible for someone to objectively enumerate the difference between this and coreelec so that users can make an informed decision?

CoreELEC: 3.14 vendor kernel and API, most (if not all) hardware features working.

These builds: testing of Work-in-progress mainline Linux support for Amlogic. Some features missing: multichannel/passthrough audio, HDR, VC1 hardware decoding...

If you want things to "simply work", pick CE. If you like experimenting and want to help in bringing mainline support, use these builds.
