optical out on raspberry pi 3 ?

Hi all,

i've just installed libreELEC on a raspberry pi 3 to use kodi on my tv, sadly with my hardware configuration i need an optical out to be able to use 5.1 or dts sound on my system.

do you know if sound card like dacberry or digi+ are compatible with libreELEC without coding driver for a month ?

im using one of the China hifi berry digi clones like this: 1x HIFI DAC Digital Sound Card I2S SPDIF Optical Fiber For Raspberry Pi 2 A+ B+ | eBay

just make sure you set the number of channels to 2 and enable pass through of ac3 and dd if you player supports them if you enable ac3 transcoding it will convert aac 5.1 to ac3/dd on the fly as well
